# List shifts in an organization

GET https://api.letsdeel.com/rest/time-tracking/shifts

Lists the shifts recorded on the organization's contracts for a period, from any app or system that entered them. Use it to sync worked time into an external payroll, ERP or reporting system, fetching only what changed since the last sync.

 **Token scopes**: `time-tracking:read`, `worker:read`

**Beta**: this version requires the `X-Beta: true` request header and its contract may change before it is promoted to stable. It is scheduled to become stable on 2027-02-03.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — ## Authentication The Deel API uses bearer tokens to authenticate requests. All API calls must be made over HTTPS — calls over plain HTTP or without authentication will fail. ```curl curl -X GET 'https://api.deel.training/rest/v2/contracts' \ -H 'Authorization: Bearer YOUR-TOKEN-HERE' ``` [Learn more about authentication](/api/authentication)
- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Standard OAuth2 security scheme based on https://swagger.io/docs/specification/authentication/

## Servers

- `https://api.letsdeel.com/rest` (Production, default)
- `https://api-staging.letsdeel.com/rest` (Demo)

## Request

### Query parameters

- `from` (string, required) — First shift day of the range, inclusive. The range spans at most 31 days.
- `to` (string, required) — Last shift day of the range, inclusive. The range spans at most 31 days.
- `contract_ids` (list of string, optional) — Return only shifts on these contracts. Repeat the key for several values. Worker tokens only see their own contracts; other contracts return no shifts.
- `statuses` (list of enum, optional) — Return only shifts in these approval statuses. Repeat the key for several values. A pay-as-you-go shift is matched on its own approval status, which can differ from the status it shows when its hourly report has moved on.
  - Allowed values: `PENDING`, `APPROVED`, `REJECTED`
- `types` (list of enum, optional) — Return only shifts of these types. Repeat the key for several values.
  - Allowed values: `REGULAR`, `OVERTIME`, `ON_CALL`, `KEEP_IN_TOUCH`, `DAY_TRACKING`
- `origins` (list of enum, optional) — Return only shifts entered through these channels. Repeat the key for several values.
  - Allowed values: `PLATFORM`, `MOBILE`, `ADMIN`, `AUTO_SUBMIT`, `INTERNAL_INTEGRATION`, `EXTERNAL_INTEGRATION`, `SLACK`
- `contract_types` (list of enum, optional) — Return only shifts on contracts of these types. Repeat the key for several values.
  - Allowed values: `EOR`, `GLOBAL_PAYROLL`, `PEO`, `HRIS_DIRECT_EMPLOYEE`, `HRIS_DIRECT_CONTRACTOR`, `PAY_AS_YOU_GO_TIME_BASED`
- `project_id` (string, optional) — Return only shifts recorded against this project. Pay-as-you-go shifts are not matched by this filter yet.
- `limit` (integer, optional, default: 50) — Maximum number of shifts in the page.
- `cursor` (string, optional) — Opaque cursor from the previous page's next_cursor. Send it with the same filters, in the same order, and the same limit as the first page.

### Headers

- `X-Beta` (enum, required, default: true) — Opts in to the beta version of this endpoint. Must be `true`.
  - Allowed values: `true`

## Response

### 200

One page of shifts, in the order they were created.

- `data` (list of TimeTrackingShiftsGetResponsesContentApplicationJsonSchemaDataItems, required) — Shifts in this page.
- `has_more` (boolean, required) — Whether to fetch another page with next_cursor. A full page sets it, so the page after it can be empty.
- `next_cursor` (string, required, nullable) — Cursor for the next page; null on the last page.

- `errors` (list of TimeTrackingShiftsGetResponsesContentApplicationJsonSchemaErrorsItems, required) — Every problem found, not only the first.

### 403 Forbidden Error

INSUFFICIENT_SCOPES (the token has neither the time-tracking:read nor the worker:read scope) or TOKEN_TYPE_NOT_ALLOWED (a token type these endpoints do not accept).

- `errors` (list of TimeTrackingShiftsGetResponsesContentApplicationJsonSchemaErrorsItems, required) — Every problem found, not only the first.

### 404 Not Found Error

Operation failed.

- `errors` (list of TimeTrackingShiftsGetResponsesContentApplicationJsonSchemaErrorsItems, required) — Every problem found, not only the first.

### 429 Too Many Requests Error

RATE_LIMITED. Over 5 requests per second for the organization.

- `errors` (list of TimeTrackingShiftsGetResponsesContentApplicationJsonSchemaErrorsItems, required) — Every problem found, not only the first.

- `errors` (list of TimeTrackingShiftsGetResponsesContentApplicationJsonSchemaErrorsItems, required) — Every problem found, not only the first.

## Types

### TimeTrackingShiftsGetResponsesContentApplicationJsonSchemaDataItems

A shift recorded on a contract.

- `id` (string, required) — Deel ID of the shift; the shift_id path parameter.
- `end` (string, required, nullable) — Shift end as local clock time, without a UTC offset; null for duration-only and DAY_TRACKING shifts.
- `date` (string, required) — Shift day, the local date the shift belongs to.
- `type` (enum, required) — Kind of time the shift records. Which types a contract accepts depends on its time tracking policy.
  - Allowed values: `REGULAR`, `OVERTIME`, `ON_CALL`, `KEEP_IN_TOUCH`, `DAY_TRACKING`
- `start` (string, required, nullable) — Shift start as local clock time, without a UTC offset; null for duration-only and DAY_TRACKING shifts.
